"There aren't many courts being built around the country at the moment — in fact some are decaying or being knocked down — but under our noses we've got this complex which looks like something out of America."

Where is the event held?

The tournament will be hosted at Winchester College Squash Courts. Full venue details, parking information, and arrival instructions will be shared with players ahead of the event.

Who can enter?

The event is open to Boys and Girls in the following age groups:

Players must be eligible for their age group on the day of the tournament.

How many players are in each category?

Each age group will have a draw size of between 8 and 16 players, depending on entries.

What format is used?

(MONRAD System)

This tournament will use a MONRAD format, which is designed to maximise match play for all players.

How MONRAD works:

All players compete in multiple matches across the weekend

Players are grouped by ability after each round

You play opponents with similar results as the tournament progresses

There is no early elimination – everyone continues to play

Final positions are determined based on match results across all rounds

This format ensures competitive, enjoyable matches and plenty of court time for every player.

How many matches will each player get?

Players can expect to play multiple matches (typically 4–6, depending on draw size), making this an excellent development event.

What is the entry fee?

The entry fee is £25 per player.

How do I enter?

Entries are made online via the event link:

Spaces are limited and entries will close once draws are full with a final closing date of Saturday 14th March

What equipment do players need?

Players must bring:

A squash racket

Non-marking indoor court shoes

Eye protection (mandatory for all juniors U19)

Will food and refreshments be available?

Light refreshments and snacks will be available during the day. More details will be provided nearer the event.

What time will matches start and finish?

Exact match schedules will be released once entries close. Players should be prepared to play across the day, with breaks between matches.
